2014 Forgeron Façon Blanc Rhône White, Columbia Valley
33% Roussanne, 30% Grenache Blanc, 22% Viognier, 15% Marsanne
Columbia Valley AVA
We were very diligent to pick grapes earlier in 2014 as it was a very
warm vintage. We separated the hard press wines from the light press
to minimize phenol extraction which causes bitterness and heaviness.
Façon [FAH-son] means “the way, fashion, or style of expression,” in
French, and represents the unique style of Forgeron Cellars, where
winemaker Marie-Eve Gilla blends her French heritage and training with
her years of experience working with Washington terroir. Our Façon
Rouge (GSM red blend) and Façon Blanc (white blend) are inspired by
the wine styles of the Southern Rhône Valley in France.
Inspired by long, relaxing afternoons on the patios and pétanque courts of Provence and the southern Rhône.
