2019 Forgeron Cellars Zinfandel
One of only a handful of Zinfandel wines produced in Washington State, Forgeron Cellars has crafted this varietal since the winery was founded in 2001. Sourced entirely from the Alder Ridge Vineyard, this south-facing site features sandy-loam soils that provide the ideal spot to grow this difficult varietal. We were able to bring the fruit in early this year, and the fruit showcases robust fruit characteristics and body. This wine really shows off a true, classic style of Zinfandel.
Tasting notes
A regal vibrant purple in the glass, our Zinfandel delights the palate with silky tannins and flavors of brambleberry, black pepper, and dark cherry. This wine offers up a very sophisticated style of Zinfandel with richness and body that keeps you enticed with every sip. Serve this wine with a hearty Beef Bolognese.

Sourced from the Alder Ridge vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills, the 2018 Zinfandel delivers nicely balanced red fruit flavors and plenty of lip-smacking acidity on the palate. Forward, juicy and unpretentious. Enjoy this over the next several years.

90 points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
This rich, bruising Zinfandel spent 18 months in 10% new French oak, 10% new American oak and 80% neutral oak. Black-cherry and craisin aromas are found on the nose, along with a trace of shoe polish. Heaping helpings of sweet-tart lingonberry-jam join flavors like orange citrus, bittersweet dark chocolate and balsa wood. This medium-bodied Zinfandel possesses silky tannins and a level of acidity that will definitely whet the whistle.
