2019 Forgeron Cellars Mourvèdre
From Heart of the Hill Vineyard located in the heart of Red Mountain; it is one of the smallest appellations in Washington State at just 4.04 acres. Our 2019 Mourvèdre came off the vines a bit earlier than usual as a means to preserve its full flavor and expressive characteristics. We love how large these berries are, and how much they bring the vineyard terroir right to us. We have always enjoyed what the Mourvèdre from this particular vineyard imparts to us, and this vintage held true. We hope you are able to enjoy this beautiful wine on a moonlit evening.
Tasting notes
Our Mourvèdre starts off with beautiful aromas of dark currant, boot-strap, hickory and black liquorice which are followed by flavors of flambéed strawberries, dried herbs, white pepper and semi-sweet chocolate. The silky smooth finish is framed by well defined tannins that provide for a well-structured and pleasing finish.

Lovely aromas of red licorice, redcurrant and suede. Medium-to full-bodied with refreshing tannins. Very good depth and presence on the palate. Flavorful and succulent. Charming black-tea character. Drink now.

The inky 2019 Mourvedre Heart of the Hill Vineyard exudes class, presenting a soft mouthfeel and layers of Asian spice, tobacco leaf and white-pepper-dusted brisket on the palate. Medium to full-bodied with good finesse. Enjoy this beautiful effort over the next seven years.
