2020 Forgeron Cellars Syrah
Initial aromatics offer an inviting perception of sweet dark fruit jam. On the palate, a delicate citrusy note emerges, accompanied by a pronounced presence of Tulare cherry that commands attention. A graceful balance between oak influence and ripe, juicy fruit complements the medium body and acidity that carries through to a mouth-watering finish.

VINTAGE NOTES
The 2020 vintage started as most years do and harvest was anticipated to be a bit earlier than the previous year. Around July we saw temperatures begin to change, which caused the ripening process to slow and result in later picking dates, and we ended up harvesting just a few days apart on most varietals from the previous year. We did experience smoke through the season, but with precautions taken at the winery (bucket ferments) were able to avoid its impact entirely.

92 points, James Suckling
Aromas of dark cherries and blackberries with crushed walnuts, cocoa and dried flowers. Plush and textured with full body and layers of soft, velvety tannins. Ripe and mellow dark-berry character and earthy undertones to close. Drink or hold.
91 points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
The wine's pretty boysenberry, chrysanthemum tea and cinnamon spice aromas in no way prepare you for the show of Syrah force that is coming. Muscular tannins flex, daring you to decant. Thick black cherry compote, grilled rack of lamb, tobacco and fresh-cracked black pepper flavors fill the mouth, taking no prisoners. Enjoy 2024–2034.
