2015 ANVIL Chardonnay French Creek

Inspired by the great wines of the Montrachet AOC in France, this Chardonnay is powerful and rich but with good acids and minerality to create tension and excitement. A nod to French tradition, we aged this Chardonnay for 16 months in 50% new French oak from Burgundian coopers.

2013 ANVIL Cabernet Sauvignon Dionysus

Old vine Cabernet Sauvignon has become the remarkable flagship variety of Dionysus Vineyard. In 2008, we started sourcing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from block 12 and later on experimented with Petit Verdot from Block 11 which adds generous flavors and great texture. This wine is rich, full, creamy, and intense, with aromas of black pepper, violets, black currants, and dried herbs, followed by flavors of spice, cayenne pepper, dark chocolate, dried fruit, red cherry, and cobbler.

2012 ANVIL Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla Valley

Our ANVIL 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Walla Walla Valley shows beautiful sweet red cherries, hints of lush red plums and soft chalky tannins (Minnick Hills). Full-bodied with a complex blend of earth and spice mixed with tart red fruit (Pepper Bridge). This wine has toasty caramel from the new oak accompanying wild blackberries, cigar box, dark chocolate hints, and solid tannins for a long, aromatic finish.

2014 Forgeron Chardonnay Columbia Valley

Our Chardonnay is styled after the world-renowned white wines from the Burgundy region of France. 2014 Was a very warm vintage and we were diligent to pick the grapes earlier and then do a separate hard press from a light press to minimize phenol extraction that can cause bitterness and heaviness. The result is a beautiful, cooler-style Chardonnay--like one would find in Burgundy--with balanced acids and good typicity.

Our Façon Rouge (GSM red blend) and Façon Blanc (white blend) are inspired by the wine styles of the Southern Rhône Valley in France.

2013 Forgeron Façon Rouge Rhône Red, Columbia Valley

**91 Points - Wine Advocate, June 2016**

Our Rhône-inspired red blend pays tribute to the fragrant and dynamic fruit of Grenache-based wines of the Southern Rhone (Gigondas) in France. The warm, dry conditions of the Columbia Valley result in a rich and full Grenache-Syrah-Mourvédre blend.

2013 Forgeron Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla Valley

Cabernet Sauvignon is ‘ruler’ of the reds and reveals the seriousness of a winemaker. Firm, structured, genuine and age-worthy; this wine is testament to the patience and restraint used in the vineyard and winemaking process. Bigger and bolder, underlines our commitment to work with Walla Walla fruit which is more mature and available now compared to when we started the winery 15 years ago. Minnick Hills and Pepper Bridge vineyards in Walla Walla, are VINEA certified and align with our commitment to work with vineyards where management has the utmost respect of the land. Birch Creek Merlot and Cab are big and bold, while Petit Verdot adds smoothness and dimension.

2014 Forgeron Primitivo

Primitivo is a genetic 'cousin' to Zinfandel. We like to compare and contrast our Primitivo and Zinfandel; although the varietals are very similar, the growing sites have very different conditions (warmer in Wahluke for Primitivo), and the Zinfandel gets harvested up to 30 days later than the Primitivo. The Primitivo is more rustic and for the 2014 vintage, we blended a bit of Zinfandel in to mellow it out a bit. Full-bodied, spicy, and creamy, with flavors of anise and caramel. Perfect for tomato-based dishes like spicy sausage pizza or eggplant parmesan.

2013 Forgeron Cabernet Sauvignon RED MOUNTAIN

We like to highlight the many faces of the vineyards we find in WA state. Klipsun is one of the oldest vineyards on Red Mountain and the arid conditions are perfectly suited to craft deep, powerful Cabernet Sauvignons. This Cabernet is composed of 90% Klipsun Vineyard Cabernet, and 10% Petit Verdot from Dionysus Vineyard. The result is classic Red Mountain: creamy, savory, bold, firm, and masculine with big tannins.

2013 Forgeron Mourvèdre, Red Mountain

We like to show how different this Red Mountain Mourvèdre is from the French version in the Bandol appellation; not dusty and earthy, but ripe and spicy with nice white crushed pepper.

Forgeron Walldeaux Smithie 14, Columbia Valley

Walldeaux Smithie is a non-vintage blend to create more consistency and density. Blending 3 consecutive vintages allows a full tasting experience with complex layers from the “mature”  vintages (barrel-aged 12-24 months), combined with fruity, youthful and juicy mouth-filling flavors from the “newer” vintage, usually a wine of the year aged a short time in seasoned barrels. These bright, young flavors deliciously complete the more polished and refined characteristics from the previous vintages. With the highest quality in mind, Walldeaux Smithie offers exceptional value for its price.
